Men’s Tennis Comes Up Short in Sunday Battle with Yale, 6-1 – Temple


New Haven, Ct. – Temple men’s tennis (0-2) drop their second match of the season to Yale (3-0), who have been playing very well to start the spring, by a final score of 6-1 on Sunday afternoon.
 
NOTES:

  • Temple’s lone point of the afternoon came from the 6th position as Thibault Frumholz faced Yale’s Walker Oberg. It was very close until Frumholz won in the third set, 11-9.  
  • The Owls’ pairing of Leo Raquin and Thibault Frumholz were the only ones capable of securing a win in doubles play. They finished first but neither Temple pairing could win their match for the point behind them.  
  • Marin Delmas battled from the No. 1 position for the Owls today but came up short losing both matches 7-5.

  2. Gogineni/Dehmoubed (YALE) def. El Tawil/Gorregues (TEM) 6-4
  3. Raquin/Frumholz (TEM) def. Lefevre/Neal (YALE) 6-3

  1. Dean (YALE) def. Delmas (TEM) 7-5, 7-5
  2. Gogineni (YALE) def. Raquin (TEM) 7-5, 6-3
  3. Neal (YALE) def. Barety (TEM) 6-3, 6-4
  4. Sun (YALE) def. Gorregues (TEM) 5-7, 6-0, 6-2
  5. Dehmoubed (YALE) def. El Tawil (TEM) 6-0, 6-2
  6. Frumholz (TEM) def. Oberg (YALE) 4-6, 6-4, 11-9

NEXT UP:
The Owls now have the week to prepare for their busy weekend ahead playing Monmouth (2-0) on Saturday, Feb 4 at 4:00 p.m. in West Long Branch, NJ., before returning home for the first time this season to play Howard (0-0) on Sunday.
