The Wellsville Lions Club Student of the Month

The Wellsville Lions Club chose Camryn Jackson as the Lions Club Student of the Month for December. She is the daughter of Jesse and Amy Jackson of Wellsville.

Camryn’s academic achievements are the following: National Honor Society, 3.75 honors for four years, and A Honor Roll for four years. She is enrolled in College Credit Plus, taking classes at Kent East Liverpool in addition to her classes at Wellsville High School. She is also a Kent State Rural Scholar.

Camryn was Junior Class vice president, Student Council vice president, and was also a member of the Columbiana County Youth Leadership Summit.

Camryn is very involved with her community. She has helped with the Sons of Italy Fish Fries, Tag Days, the Harvest Food Bank. She has participated in Y-Teens Blood Drives, Trunk or Treat for NHS, and helped tutor students at various grade levels. She is involved in the “Learning is Cool After School” program at Garfield. She is also employed at Valley Drive In in Wellsville.

As a student at WHS, Camryn has been a member of Leo Club for two years and held the offices of secretary and vice president. She was also a member of Simple Act of Kindness for three years, and Spirit Club for three years where she was the secretary. She was also a member of Varsity W for two years and Y-Teens for two years.

Her athletic career includes basketball for four years and volleyball for one year. She was a 2017-18 and 2018-19 EOAC Academic All-Star, and a 2017-18 OVAC ALL Conference Academic Team member. She also earned honors as EOAC Second-Team and All County Honorable Mention.

Camryn plans to attend Kent State University this Fall and will be majoring in Exercise Science.
